Prior to the Week 2 showdown against the Minnesota Vikings, the Arizona Cardinals have elevated safety Chris Banjo and cornerback Antonio Hamilton to the active roster from the practice squad.
Banjo was a surprise-cut on the initial 53-man roster for the Cardinals at the end of August. However, Arizona was able to bring him back, signing him to the practice squad.
He was a core member of Arizona’s special teams unit last season, who made a career-high 48 tackles. The veteran defensive back has been with Arizona since 2019 and has been in the league since 2013.
As for Hamilton, the Cardinals signed him to the practice squad on Sept. 2. The five-year NFL vet has seen action in 57 games which includes two starts. Hamilton played in all 16 games last season for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The first home game for the Cardinals of 2021 will take place at 1:05 p.m. MST and you can hear all the action on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
