Green Bay Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas isn’t even a month removed from spending time as part of the Arizona Cardinals on their practice squad.

In Thursday night’s monumental matchup, Douglas got the last laugh with a game-sealing interception against a team he’s very familiar with.

“Blessed man … in a crazy mental state,” Douglas said after the game about his emotions when Green Bay signed him off Arizona’s practice squad on Oct. 6. “Been in the league five years, never on a practice squad before.”

Waiting for his opportunity with the Cardinals, a string of injuries to Green Bay’s secondary triggered their signing of Douglas. To his surprise, the cornerback didn’t know he would see his old team so soon.

“Nah, I didn’t even know cause I never check the schedule,” Douglas said when asked if he knew he would get the chance to play the Cardinals.

On his interception, Douglas said the Packers sent an all-out blitz and he saw Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray looking toward wide receiver A.J. Green’s way.

“He threw it to my guy, I just made a play,” he said. “That was probably the first time I won a game like that, so it was a shocking feeling.”

With that being said, Douglas was confident he would be able to get his hands on the football Thursday night.

“I knew I was gonna get a pick, just based off my film and me being here (Arizona),” he said.
