ASU to wear gold uniforms, maroon helmets for Las Vegas Bowl

Dec 29, 2021, 1:05 PM

The Arizona State Sun Devils football team will be rocking a new look in its final game in the 2021 season.

In the Las Vegas Bowl, the Sun Devils will wear all gold uniforms with maroon lids, marking the first time fans have seen this combination from ASU this year.

The Sun Devils are taking on the “Golden Knights” persona when they face Wisconsin on Thursday. Las Vegas is of course home to the Golden Knights, the city’s NHL franchise.

ASU will be wearing its gold Valley Heat jersey for the third time this season. The gold tops marked the first time since 1990 the Sun Devils wore gold jerseys.

For the first time with the gold jerseys, the Sun Devils will rock their maroon helmets. These helmets pay homage to Vegas, featuring imagery of “The Strip” on the back.

Previously, the Sun Devils wore gold helmets along with the gold threads.

Kickoff between the Sun Devils and Badgers is set for 8:30 p.m. Thursday from Allegiant Stadium.
