Arizona Wildcats guard Kerr Kriisa was in uniform and on the bench for Friday night’s NCAA Tournament first-round matchup against Wright State in San Diego.

However, the sophomore did not play in his team’s 87-70 victory to advance to the second round vs. the winner of No. 8 seed Seton Hall and No. 9 seed TCU on Sunday.

Kriisa was a game-time decision coming into the contest after suffering an ankle injury in the team’s Pac-12 Tournament quarterfinal win over Stanford last week.

He was seen warming up prior to the Wildcats’ first appearance in the NCAA Tournament under first-year head coach Tommy Lloyd.

Justin Kier started in place of Kriisa on Friday just as he did for Arizona in the semifinals and championship game of the conference tourney.

Kriisa posted 10.1 points and 4.9 assists per game this season while shooting 35% from beyond the arc.

The sophomore averages 8.7 shots per contest, 7.1 of which come from three-point range.
