The Arizona State men’s golf team sits in sixth place as the 2022 Division I Men’s Golf Championships heads to the final day of stroke play at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale on Monday.

The field was cut from 30 teams to 15 teams after Sunday, where the top eight after Monday’s final stroke play round advance to match play.

An individual NCAA Champion will be crowned at Grayhawk on Monday, with ASU’s Cameron Sisk (+1) five shots back of leader Gordon Sargent (-4) from Vanderbilt.

The Sun Devils currently sit at 19-over par as a team but had their best day of the tournament on Sunday, firing a 277 total. The first two days of the tournament, ASU shot 290 and 292.

ASU had three players under par in the third round, led by Sisk who shot a 68. Preston Summerhays matched that with a 68 of his own and David Puig was 1-under.

The Sun Devils have a nice cushion entering Monday’s final round, with the teams in ninth place currently sitting at 29-over.

Entering the tournament as the 4-seed, ASU will look to stay in the top eight to advance to Tuesday’s match play portion of the tournament.

The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played Tuesday from Grayhawk, with the championship match then teeing off on Wednesday.
