The first major injury of Arizona Cardinals training camp happened on Wednesday.

Wide receiver Michael Floyd suffered a left hand injury at the beginning of practice that could cause him to miss the beginning of the season according to NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora.

About a hour after the original report on Floyd came out, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported news that is a bit more promising to Cardinals fans.

If Floyd is out only four weeks, that would put him on track to be ready for the Cardinals first game on Sept. 13 against the New Orleans Saints.

More than 10 players have been held out with minor injuries, including first round pick D.J. Humphries.

The receiver is entering his fourth season with the team and is coming off catching a career-high six touchdown passes in 2014.

Floyd, who has yet to miss a game in his career, has caught 157 passes for 2,444 yards and 13 touchdowns during his brief NFL tenure. He was expected to start opposite of Larry Fitzgerald in the Cardinals offense.
