Cardinals add OL Martin, WRs Cotton and Payton to practice squad

The Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday signed guard Koda Martin as well as receivers Jeff Cotton Jr. and JaVonta Payton to their practice squad.
Roster spots became available after the team placed receiver Victor Bolden Jr. and offensive lineman Rashaad Coward on practice squad injured reserve.
Martin has been a staple in Arizona’s locker room since 2020 and adds depth with the Cardinals nursing injuries on the 53-man roster to starting left guard Justin Pugh and backup Cody Ford.
The receiver position has also been thinned by DeAndre Hopkins’ six-game suspension (PEDs) to begin the year and injuries to Antoine Wesley (hip/groin) and Rondale Moore (hamstring).
While Payton, an undrafted rookie out of Tennessee, spent the preseason with the Cardinals, Cotton is new to the team but grew up in Arizona.
The 6-foot-2, 204-pound Cotton attended Mountain View High School in Tucson and played college ball at Idaho.
He has spent time with the Los Angeles Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars — mostly with their practice squads — since entering the league in 2020.
