Arizona Cardinals kicker Matt Ammendola and safety Chris Banjo were signed Wednesday to the active roster off the team’s practice squad.
The Cardinals also officially placed running back Jonathan Ward (hamstring) on the injured reserve and added receiver Laquon Treadwell, Andre Baccellia as well as running backs Ty’Son Williams and Corey Clement, to the practice squad.
The moves indicate Ammendola, who missed a game-tying kick in a 20-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last week, will remain in service in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks with usual starter Matt Prater still working back from a hip injury.
Ammendola was a practice squad elevation last week in his debut with the Cardinals.
Arizona’s intention of signing Williams and Clement was already reported with running backs James Conner, Darrel Williams and Ward suffering injuries last week.
Treadwell, 27, is coming off his best season as a pro. With the Jacksonville Jaguars last season, he recorded 33 catches for 434 yards and a touchdown.
He has 70 NFL games of experience with 23 starts. The 6-foot-2 receiver has made 104 receptions (165 targets) for 1,184 yards in his six-year career.
The Cardinals have four receivers on the 53-man roster at present after they on Tuesday released receiver Andre Baccellia. Arizona head coach Kliff Kingsbury also announced this week that receiver Antoine Wesley, who was already on the injured reserve, is out for the season. It was reported Wesley was undergoing tests for a quad injury.
Treadwell joins Javon Wims and Stanley Berryhill as the wideouts on the practice squad.
No. 1 receiver DeAndre Hopkins is projected to return after his PED suspension ends following Week 6.
