The Arizona Cardinals will turn to quarterback David Blough on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, their fourth different starting QB of the season, head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters on Friday.

It was announced earlier in the week that backup Colt McCoy had cleared concussion protocols and was in line to start, but Kingsbury said McCoy was battling more symptoms and was shut down for Sunday.

Blough was signed shortly after Kyler Murray tore his ACL on Monday Night Football against the New England Patriots. He was the third string behind McCoy and Trace McSorley, but after McSorley’s performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Christmas Day, Arizona is going with Blough.

Blough has experience as a starting quarterback in the NFL after going undrafted out of Purdue, going 0-5 with the Detroit Lions in 2019. His first-ever completion was a 75-yard touchdown pass to Kenny Golladay on Thanksgiving.

In those five games, he threw for 984 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions with a QBR of 34.

Additionally, star wideout DeAndre Hopkins was seen leaving practice on Friday and Kingsbury said it was due to a knee injury.

The Cardinals will square off against the Falcons in Atlanta at 11 p.m. on Sunday on 98.7, the Arizona Sports app and ArizonaSports.com.
