Cardinals promote Mike Miller to offensive coordinator
TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arizona Cardinals promoted Mike Miller to the role of offensive coordinator Wednesday, completing the restructuring of the team’s coaching staff.
Miller, who served as the team’s passing game coordinator the last two seasons, will likely serve as the primary play caller, a role head coach Ken Whisenhunt has filled since Todd Haley left to be the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs after the 2008 season.
“It was something that I’ve always intended to do,” Whisenhunt said. “It’s not anything that is unusual for me because I was given this same opportunity. It’s very similar to what I did with Todd [Haley] a number of years ago. Mike [Miller] has worked very hard to earn that opportunity and I think he’ll do very well in that role.”
It’s an opportunity that Miller thinks will set him up for success.
