The Arizona Diamondbacks made another move to avoid overworking their bullpen by recalling pitcher Tyler Wagner from Triple-A Reno and sending outfielder Socrates Brito to the minor league affiliate on Monday.

Late Saturday night, Arizona recalled reliever Evan Marshall and starting pitcher Archie Bradley, the latter of whom will open the series against the San Francisco Giants on Monday.

Wagner, who started two games with Reno, has allowed five earned runs in 8.2 innings pitched this young season. It is presumed he will add long relief to the bullpen.

The D-backs acquired Wagner in the trade with the Milwaukee Brewers that also netted second baseman Jean Segura.

The addition of another pitcher in place of Brito means Arizona will move forward with infielder Chris Owings continuing as a centerfielder. The D-backs also played right fielder David Peralta in center during their last series against the San Diego Padres.

Brito was expected to start in center field and split time with Owings, the converted infielder who would play against left-handed pitchers.

But Brito has been cool at the plate, failing to get a hit in eight at-bats in San Diego. He is hitting .226 with the same on-base percentage in 31 at-bats this year.
