ASU’s Brock Osweiler ‘really got to be locked in’ when on road

Brock Osweiler doesn’t have a ton of experience, but the experience he does have should help him this week when he leads Arizona State into Champaign, Illinois for the Sun Devils’ first road game of the season.
“Fortunately for myself, I’ve started a game at Autzen Stadium. I’ve started a game down in Tucson. Two pretty crazy environments, to say the least. I did take a lot from those football games and I think I’ll be ready to go at Illinois.”
A crowd of 50,000 is expected to pack the 60,000-seat Memorial Stadium.
“That’ll be interesting to see,” said head coach Dennis Erickson. “Now all of a sudden you’re going to be in a stadium that’s noisy. Now all of a sudden the signals are going to change a little bit…audibilizing, all the different things that [Osweiler] has to do.”
Of Osweiler’s four career starts, two have come on the road: at Oregon in 2009 (when he became the first ASU true freshman to start at quarterback since Jake Plummer in 1993) and then last year at Arizona.
