A convincing victory for Arizona State football over a good
USC team put the Sun Devils in the national conversation for
best Pac-12 team.

“There’s no doubt in the Pac-12 South that Arizona State is
the team to beat,” ESPN college football analyst Bob Davie
told Arizona Sports 620’s Doug and Wolf Wednesday.

Davie said the Sun Devils offense will be fine as long as
they can execute and that the defense has performed well
despite setbacks.

“I think they are doing a heck of a job on defense with the
number of players they’ve had injured,” he said.

Davie thinks the Sun Devils’ special teams play could be the
key for a successful season.

“It’s going to come down to if they’re good enough in
special teams, kicking it, punting it — coverage.”
