Todd Graham’s Arizona State squad did just about everything well in their 37-7 shellacking of Utah at Sun Devil Stadium Saturday night.
The Sun Devils kicked off their Pac-12 schedule with an impressive performance from quarterback Taylor Kelly (threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns), running back Cameron Marshall (scored two touchdowns) and defensive tackle Will Sutton (one sack and four tackles).
“That’s what you are supposed to do at home,” ESPN college football analyst Mark May said of ASU’s victory on Arizona Sports 620’s Burns & Gambo Show. “They put the pedal to metal and never let up.”
But as May noted Tuesday, winning at home is no longer the measuring stick for ASU.
“They came out from the start and took care of business,” May said. “But the thing is with both Arizona schools — UA and ASU — they play well at home. We already know that. Now they have to find a way to win on the road no matter who the opponent.”
Since 2009, the Sun Devils are just 4-13 away from Tempe. Their last road win came on Oct. 8 of last year against Utah.
