Richard Jefferson: NBA retiree, future erotic author

Jun 20, 2016, 12:43 PM | Updated: 1:53 pm

Cavaliers small forward and champagne connoisseur Richard Jefferson foreshadowed his plans Sunday to pen essays upon his immediate retirement.

The 35-year-old veteran has 15 years of NBA experience, coming off a championship season in his first year with Cleveland. He announced his retirement immediately following the Cavs’ game seven victory, adding that he plans to write essays in his golden years.

“That’s what I’m going to do when I retire, I’m just going to write essays,” he told Allie Clifton of Fox Sports Ohio. “That’s all I’m going to do, is write essays. I don’t know what they’re going to be. They might be erotic, I don’t know. But I’m just going to write lots of essays.”

Jefferson made his literary debut when he authored the essay “Who We Are” for The Players’ Tribune. The Arizona alum has more than 14,000 career points and is 79th all-time in games played, but may have discovered a brighter future awaiting him.

“I don’t know what to say,” he went on to say.

Well-said, Richard Jefferson.
