Suns rookie Marquese Chriss maybe could’ve been a quarterback

You know what they say about former ASU quarterback Brock Osweiler. He’s 6-foot-10 and has got a cannon for an arm.

If those are the two tools needed to get a $72 million deal with the Houston Texans, it’s then possible that Phoenix Suns rookie Marquese Chriss could have a career as an NFL quarterback. How do we know?

The Suns dropped into the Arizona Cardinals’ practice on Thursday, and Chriss was captured launching a 65-yard pass down the field.

Maybe we’re jumping the gun regarding his potential to play quarterback. Chriss was actually a football player until he suffered a shoulder injury in eighth grade, but he only played tight end, defensive end and safety.

Lending less confidence in Chriss is teammate Alan Williams, who would rather take a quarterback that would be giving up half a foot to the offensive line he’s playing behind.

But still: Chriss is 6-foot-10, can see over the line and clearly has a cannon for an arm.
