University of Arizona linebacker Scooby Wright can add another piece of hardware to his mantle.

On Thursday, he was handed the Chuck Bednarik Award, which is presented to the college defensive player of the year by the Maxwell Football Club.

This award comes one day after winning the 2014 Rotary Lombardi Award and three days after receiving the Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

Wright is the first player from an Arizona college to receive the Bednarik award, which debuted in 1995. Arizona Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu took home the trophy in 2011 for his performance with Louisiana State University.

The Wildcats linebacker also received another honor Thursday. Although Wright wasn’t proclaimed the Walter Camp Football Foundation 2014 Player of the Year — an accolade which went to Oregon’s Marcus Mariota — he was one of just 25 college performers named to the Walter Camp All-America Team.

The members of the All-America team will be honored
at the Walter Camp Football Foundation’s national awards banquet on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, in New Haven, Connecticut.

Wright, a sophomore, has compiled 158 tackles, including 89 solo, this season. His 28 tackles for loss lead the nation. He and the Wildcats will face Boise State on Wednesday, Dec. 31, in the VIZIO Fiesta Bowl at University of Phoenix Stadium.
