Arizona quarterback transfer Anu Solomon will join the Baylor Bears as a graduate transfer, according to 247 Sports’ Tom Loy and Steve Wiltfong.
Solomon was the opening game starter for the Wildcats in 2016 and played the entirety of Arizona’s loss to BYU. A knee injury suffered in practice afterward limited him throughout the season and he never regained the starting spot for the rest of the year.
The junior finished with 462 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in five games played.
A year prior, Solomon threw for 2,667 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions. That followed his redshirt freshman season in 2014 in which he accounted for 3,793 yards through the air to go with 28 touchdowns and nine picks in Arizona’s 10-4 season that included a Pac-12 South title and Fiesta Bowl loss to Boise State.
Solomon announced he would transfer in mid-December. As a graduate transfer, he will be eligible immediately.
For Arizona, Brandon Dawkins, who grabbed the starting quarterback job in Solomon’s absence, returns for his junior season, as does soon-to-be sophomore Khalil Tate.
The Wildcats also have dual-threat quarterback recruit Braxton Burmeister committed, although a recent Oregon offer has him reportedly wavering in the past week. Coach Rich Rodriguez’s son, Rhett, is also an incoming 3-star recruit at quarterback.
