The Arizona Wildcats moved up one spot in both national polls after Sunday’s blowout win over Arizona State.
UA was bumped up to No. 7 in the Associated Press poll and No. 6 in the USA TODAY Coaches poll following its 73-49 home win over ASU to open Pac-12 play. Arizona leapfrogged Villanova, which lost to previously unranked Seton Hall on Saturday, in both polls.
Utah is the Pac-12’s only other ranked team. The Utes, who routed USC and UCLA at home in their first two conference games, are ranked No. 9 in the AP poll and No. 11 in the coaches’ poll. UA and Utah will face off Jan. 17 in Tucson.
The Washington Huskies, who were previously ranked No. 21 in the AP poll and No. 19 in the coaches’ poll, dropped out of both polls following their 0-2 start to Pac-12 play.
The Cats’ first Pac-12 road test awaits, as they’ll travel north to face Oregon on Thursday and Oregon State on Sunday.
