The Providence men’s basketball team had plenty of trouble in Big East play before it made a trip to the BMO Harris Bradley Center to take on Marquette Saturday afternoon.
However from the looks of it, the Friars (2-5 record in the conference) had more to contend with than Buzz Williams and the Golden Eagles.
During two separate occasions in the second half, a bat caused play to stop.
It’s not uncommon for a bird to fly into an arena every now and again, but a bat? As BigLeadSports.com pointed out, one Providence player in particular wasn’t ready to take on the creature.
While dimming the lights finally forced the bat to exit the facility, fans will likely remember the rare stoppages in play more so than Marquette’s 81-71 victory.
