NEW YORK — Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Matt Railey has been suspended
for 50 games after a positive test for a banned amphetamine under baseball’s
minor league drug program.

Railey, who turns 20 on March 16, was selected in the third round of last
year’s amateur draft from North Florida Christian High School in Tallahassee,
Florida, with the 89th overall pick. He hit .267 with two homers and seven RBIs
in 45 at-bats last year with the Missoula Osprey of the rookie level Pioneer
League.

The suspension, announced Monday, was the 38th this year under the minor league
program.
