The Arizona Wildcats took care of business Saturday in Tempe, knocking off the Sun Devils 73-60 to claim a share of the Pac-12 regular season championship.
The victory improved Arizona’s record to 27-4, with a 16-2 mark in the Pac-12, though it did little to impact their standing in the national polls.
Heading into postseason play, the Wildcats remain at No. 7 in the AP Poll, but moved up one spot, also to No. 7, in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
Arizona is one of three Pac-12 teams in the top-10, with UCLA (4) and Oregon (5) ranking ahead of them. The Cats may get a chance to improve their standing this week, however, as it’s possible they will face both in the Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas.
The Wildcats are the second-seeded team in the conference tournament and will play their first game Thursday against the winner of No. 7 Colorado and No. 10 Washington State.
