Social media has truly become the source for just about any news happening around the world, and Tuesday was no exception.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news on Twitter Tuesday of the Kansas City Chiefs agreement to send quarterback Alex Smith to the Washington Redskins for a third-round pick and cornerback Kendall Fuller.

However, shortly after his initial tweet, Schefter updated his report, saying that the player the Redskins were sending to the Chiefs was still “unidentified.”

Meanwhile, like others, Fuller followed the reports, at one point discrediting it by saying that he wasn’t the player traded.

But, the power of social media struck again, as Schefter again updated the report revealing that it was, in fact, Fuller who was apart of the deal for Smith.

Now with confirmation that he will be joining the Chiefs, Fuller handled it as well as anyone, making fun of the situation that kept him on his toes Tuesday night.

A product of Virginia Tech, Fuller was drafted in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Redskins. As a rookie, Fuller appeared in 13 games, recording 32 solo tackles.

He followed up his rookie campaign with 43 tackles and 4 interceptions in 16 games.

Now, the 22-year-old will join the Chiefs’ defense to play alongside cornerback Marcus Peters and safety Eric Berry.
