Most NFL fans know the story of Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still and his 4-year-old daughter, Leah, who is battling stage 4 neuroblastoma. Their situation became famous following Still’s pre-treatment pep talk last month.

On Friday, Still appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” via Cincinnati and updated the world on Leah’s condition following her recent surgery.

“She’s doing good. She just finished up her third round of chemo,” he said. “This one kind of hit her kind of hard because she didn’t bounce all the way back from her surgery, but she’s a fighter and she’s going to continue to fight.”

DeGeneres, who wore Still’s jersey during their conversation, announced at the end of the segment that she will sign and auction off the jersey, with the proceeds going to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where Leah is being treated.

DeGeneres also presented Still with a $10,000 check for the hospital.

There’s no wondering why Leah has captured the nation’s heart, as Still revealed that his daughter wants to be a nurse when she grows up in order to help other kids who are battling cancer.

“It’s like she has an old soul. It’s like she’s been here before and she knows what her purpose is,” Still said.
