Cardinals select running back Chase Edmonds in fourth round of NFL Draft

The Arizona Cardinals selected running back Chase Edmonds out of Fordham in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft on Saturday.

Edmonds, the 134th selection, played in 44 games over the course of four years with the Rams.

He graduated from Fordham as the Patriot League’s all-time leading rusher with 5,862 yards.

In 2016, the 5-foot-9, 210-pound running back erupted for 1,799 yards and 19 touchdowns on 257 carries on the ground. for his efforts, he was awarded FCS All-American honors.

Injuries to his right ankle and hamstring hurt Edmonds’ numbers in 2017 as he only played in seven games, rushing for 577 yards and five touchdowns.

He’s shown signs as a pass catcher too.

In 2015, he caught 31 balls for 383 yards and five touchdowns, including an 87-yarder.

Edmonds joins quarterback Josh Rosen, wide receiver Christian Kirk and offensive lineman Mason Cole as the selections made by the Cardinals through the first four rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Arizona has two more choices left in the draft, Nos. 182 and 254.
