The coronavirus pandemic has canceled a lot of plans, the but the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Race Against Cancer isn’t one of them.

The race will still go on, but it will be done virtually. The D-backs will host the race, presented by Dignity Health, but participants can run the race in their own neighborhoods or even on a treadmill.

The 5K will take place on October 17 and 18.

Those who enter the race will still receive a t-shirt, drawstring bag, finisher medal and more. Runners will be able to enter their times on a results page.

The D-backs’ new Race Against Cancer website says there will be an opportunity for a drive-through packet pickup. Registration options and details were still to come at the time of this writing.

This year’s race is the eighth annual iteration of the event. It normally takes place in the spring. Last year’s Race Against Cancer was on March 31. Of course, most events in March and April of this year were canceled or rescheduled because of the coronavirus.
