Crying Jordan helps us cope after Cardinals fall to Panthers

We all grieve in different ways. By the end of the Arizona Cardinals’ 49-15 loss to the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Championship game on Sunday, the frustration had already turned into acceptance.

And to those Cardinals fans that witnessed their favorite NFL team turn the ball over seven times, well, there was only one way to react. The team’s official account tweeted this image late in the second half of the blowout.

The crying Michael Jordan meme has transcended basketball and before the Cardinals’ loss, it had already taken over Twitter on Championship Sunday. First, it was Jordan’s sad face sloppily placed on Tom Brady and Bill Belichick’s mugs following New England’s 20-18 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Later, as the Cardinals got walloped, the results were inevitable.

Jordan, now in charge of the Charlotte Hornets, even attended the Panthers’ victory over the Cardinals. He wasn’t crying in real life, but internet users turned this …

… into this.

And there were so many more.

This is one way for Cardinals fans to cope.
