ASU adds two new recruits to 2011 class

Feb 24, 2011, 1:37 AM | Updated: 1:55 am

ASU added two players to their 2011 signing class Wednesday, bringing the total to 18 players.

Safety Kevin Ayers from West Los Angeles College and cornerback Joe Eason from Pahokee High School in Florida will join the Sun Devils’ secondary next season.

Ayers is the brother of former UCLA All-American linebacker Akeem Ayers and comes to Tempe as a junior.

He played two seasons in junior college at West Los Angeles College and Pasadena City College, totaling 113 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, three interceptions and five forced fumbles in 19 games.

Eason is one of two Florida natives for the 2011 class along with offensive lineman Devin Goodman.

He was rated the 159th best safety prospect in the country by Scout.com and chose ASU over offers from Buffalo, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, South Florida and Western Michigan.
