ASU’s Robinson to play in the Senior Bowl

Jan 18, 2012, 5:54 PM | Updated: 6:15 pm

ASU wide receiver Gerell Robinson has accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl, which could give him the opportunity to raise his draft stock.

Robinson earned his spot by posting career-highs with 77 receptions, 1,397 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns last season. His receiving yardage total was the second-highest for a single season in ASU history. The Hamilton High School product produced six 100-yard games in 2011 and broke receiving yardage records for a Territorial Cup game (199) and the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas (241).

The Senior Bowl will be Robinson’s second opportunity to shine for NFL scouts this month. He will also participate in the East-West Shrine Game on January 21 in St. Petersburg, Florida. The 2012 Senior Bowl will be played in Mobile, Alabama on January 28, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
