Former Arizona guard Kyle Fogg will put The Tournament money to good use

The allure of watching fringe to not-so-fringe NBA players compete in The Tournament is built on what they’re playing for. And that’s money.
Sitting atop the basketball bracket gets a team $2 million to divvy up, and former Arizona Wildcat guard Kyle Fogg isn’t being selfish with his earnings after making an MVP run for champion Overseas Elite.
Fogg is buying his mother a new car. More notably, he’ll be putting some of his $174,000 cut into building a school in Ghana.
“Now we gotta furnish the house and wanna get mom a new car and build a school in Ghana,” Fogg told ESPN reporter Jeff Goodman after Overseas Elite beat Team Colorado on Tuesday.
Fogg has a fundraising effort through the Pencils of Promise program that 45 donations in has raised $18,515 of a $25,000 goal. He said he will match donations, dollar for dollar.
My goal is to raise 25,000$ to help build a school in Ghana. I don’t have a chance to accomplish this goal alone but with your help we can truly make a difference and change these peoples lives forever! You never know but this school could educate the child who is going to change the world!
Fogg, who will play in Spain next season, averaged 21.8 points per game in The Tournament, including a 42-point game in the semifinals.
