Arizona State freshman forward Kimani Lawrence has a stress fracture in his foot and is likely out until around Christmas, according to head coach Bobby Hurley.

The expectation is for Lawrence to miss approximately six weeks, per SunDevilSource.com.

That puts the Sun Devils down to seven eligible and healthy scholarship players. Ramon Vila left the program and transfer Mickey Mitchell can’t play until Dec. 10.

That seven includes redshirt freshman forward Romello White, who was out all last season after being ruled academically ineligible and did not play in the season opener against Idaho State due to a violation of team rules. White is a game-time decision for Tuesday’s affair against San Diego State.

Lawrence was ranked No. 57 in ESPN’s Top 100 for the 2017 class. He did not play in the game against Idaho State.

A return around Christmas would have Lawrence back in time for conference play, which begins for the Sun Devils on Dec. 30 against Arizona.
