Jan 4, 2018, 10:00 AM

Following his redshirt junior season, Arizona State offensive guard Sam Jones has decided to forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the 2018 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound lineman from Highlands Ranch, Colo., made the announcement via Twitter on Thursday.

Jones is rated as the 55th offensive guard in the country and is not currently projected to be drafted, according to NFLDraftScout.com.

A starter in every game this year, Jones earned Pac-12 honorable and was a steady part of an offensive line that was rated by Pro Football Focus as the 34th-best run-blocking team in the nation. Jones did not give up a sack or quarterback hit this year and ranked 24th among guards in pass-blocking efficiency.

Athlon named Jones to the All-Pac-12 Fourth Team this season.

Jones joins defensive lineman JoJo Wicker as a starting player leaving ASU for the NFL with eligibility remaining.
