Now that the annual NFL Combine has concluded, it is time for the already crazy NFL Draft speculation to heat up.
With the Arizona Cardinals selecting first in this year’s draft, there have been plenty of predictions of who the team will select and whether or not they should trade the pick.
NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah has become the most recent person to predict that the Cardinals will select Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray with the first pick in his NFL mock draft 2.0.
In his first mock draft, Jeremiah had the Cardinals selecting Ohio State pass rusher Nick Bosa, with Murray falling to the New England as the last pick of the first round.
Jeremiah’s pick was followed by this short description:
The Cardinals fully commit to Kliff Kingsbury and his vision in this scenario, which will lead the team to trade Josh Rosen.
Ever since Murray announced his full commitment to football, the speculation of Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury’s fondness of Murray has led some to believe that last year’s Heisman Trophy winner may be in his plans for the Cardinals’ future.
In a video from last October, when he was still the head coach at Texas Tech, Kingsbury praised Murray by saying he would select him with the number one overall pick if he got the chance.
Since becoming the Cardinals head coach, Kingsbury has addressed the video and commented on the status of current starting quarterback Josh Rosen saying that their feelings toward Rosen have not changed. On Feb. 12, Kingsbury called Rosen “our guy” and stated his commitment to the second-year quarterback.
Murray finished his Heisman Trophy season with 54 total touchdowns, 4,361 passing yards and 1,001 rushing yards. Murray also led the Sooners to their third College Football Playoff appearance in four years.
