Doug & Wolf rank the top 5 big impact Cardinals rookies

It’s shaking out to be quite a roster overall for the Arizona Cardinals.

General manager Steve Keim is doing everything he can to purge the team after a 3-13 season, and the 2019 NFL Draft will likely play a large part. There’s a reason why ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. suggested that all of the Cardinals’ 11 draft picks could make the 53-man roster. That’s because Arizona got a lot of value throughout, but also because of the expectation that there are quite a few jobs to be won.

That makes for an interesting conversation about which players will make the biggest impact from the jump.

Doug & Wolf’s Doug Franz and Ron Wolfley took that question and ran with it in Tuesday’s impromptu power poll.

They were asked to power rank the five most impactful rookies in the 2019 draft class. To nobody’s surprise, quarterback Kyler Murray topped both hosts’ lists.

They went different directions with the first two picks, but the top three are clear. Murray, cornerback Byron Murphy and receiver Andy Isabella, the Cardinals’ first three picks, are expected to make the biggest impact.

There’s just a little bit of debate as to whether Murphy or Isabella will play a larger role.
