Pac-12 to allow family members to attend football games this season

The Pac-12 Conference confirmed Wednesday it will be allowing families of student-athletes to attend football games this season.

The number of individuals allowed in attendance will vary by the school, and their attendance is subject to the approval of each school’s local health officials while following NCAA guidelines.

On Sept. 24, the conference had a vote approved to have the football season get underway in early November after initially postponing fall sports in mid-August due to the coronavirus pandemic.

When the Pac-12 opened up the football season, it said that fans will not be allowed to attend basketball and football through the end of 2020, a date at which the conference will reevaluate bringing fans back again.

The Arizona Cardinals had a group of 750 friends and family members attend the team’s last home game on Sept. 27 at State Farm Stadium. Phoenix Rising FC had nearly 1,000 fans in attendance for a mid-September match.
