Arizona State University’s Academic Progress Rates have been announced and the school’s average score of 976 tied the Sun Devils for second in the Pac-10 conference behind the Stanford Cardinal.

For the third straight year all 21 of ASU’s athletic teams exceeded the NCAA’s minimum requirement of 925.
The Sun Devils continue to improve as the latest numbers are the highest that ASU has received since the APR was instituted in 2003-2004.

The APR provides an up-to-date look at a team’s academic success by tracking the progress of each student-athlete each semester. The APR includes eligibility, retention and graduation in the calculation and helps to illustrate the current academic culture in each individual sport.
When the APR was first calculated ASU’s overall score was 937, which it has since increased to 976.

Four sports, football, wrestling, men’s basketball and baseball, all started with scores under 900, but have since improved as all four are now over 940.

ASU baseball has seen the most improvement as they turned in a score of 981, which ranked second in the conference.
The No. 1 ranked Sun Devil softball team ranked first in the Pac-10 with a score of 997.

The Sun Devils were led by their women’s tennis team which scored a perfect 1,000 and the swimming team which scored a 991.
