Brock Osweiler: Starring on Saturdays, will play on Sundays?

Since taking over as the team’s starting quarterback, ASU junior Brock Osweiler has done nothing but impress.

The unquestioned starter for the first time this season, Osweiler has thrown eight touchdowns and just three interceptions, guiding the Sun Devils to a 3-1 record and a spot in the AP Top 25.

He’s still focused on college, and understandably so, but is he good enough to play in the NFL?

“Yep,” ASU football analyst Jeff Van Raaphorst said as a guest on Arizona Sports 620’s Doug and Wolf.

That wasn’t considered to be a rational thought less than one year ago, proving it’s amazing what a guy can do when he gets a chance to play.

“He’s improved his leadership, his mental toughness, his accuracy, all phases that you would look for from your signal caller,” Van Raaphorst said.

It’s true that Osweiler’s draft stock has risen considerably over the last few weeks, as the 6-foot-8 QB with a cannon arm and excellent running ability appears to be a guy who could help a lot of teams at the next level.

Of course, Osweiler has yet to so much as finish an entire season at the collegiate level, so there is still plenty of time until he’ll worry about the NFL and the NFL him.
