During the NFL’s “legal tampering” period, reports circulated that the Arizona Cardinals would sign free agent linebacker Sean Weatherspoon of the Atlanta Falcons.
That is expected to happen soon after the league year officially starts Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Phoenix time.
But it looks like general manager Steve Keim isn’t stopping there when it comes to linebacker shopping.

This came on the heels of a similar tweet from ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

Irving, 26, is a 6-foot-1, 242-pound linebacker who has spent the last four seasons with the Denver Broncos, who made him a third-round pick out of North Carolina State in 2011.
Irving started the first eight games of the 2014 season for the Broncos, registering 46 total tackles and one sack. He was a part-time player on Denver’s defense in his first three seasons in the league.
Keim and the Cardinals haven’t been shy about wanting to upgrade the linebacker position — a spot decimated by numerous injuries and the season-long suspension to inside backer Daryl Washington.
