Cardinals release QB Zac Dysert, two other players

Jun 2, 2017, 12:02 PM

The Arizona Cardinals released three players on Friday, with the most notable being QB Zac Dysert.

Dysert was joined by safeties Drico Johnson and Cyril Noland-Lewis.

The QB was with the Cardinals all last season, spending most of the year on the team’s practice squad. He was active for the team’s Week 5 tilt in San Francisco while starter Carson Palmer was out with a concussion. A seventh-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Miami (OH), he has yet to attempt an NFL pass.

With Dysert no longer in the fold, the Cardinals QB room is left with Palmer, Drew Stanton, Blaine Gabbert and Trevor Knight.

Johnson and Lewis were signed by the Cardinals as undrafted rookie free agents in May.
