With the Cardinals expected to take at least one quarterback in the 2018 NFL Draft, the quarterback showcase day at the NFL Combine was as important as any.

While many were impressed by Josh Allen’s size and arm strength, there were other quarterbacks to analyze as options for the Cardinals with the 15th pick.

Josh Rosen impressed with his effort in the deep route drill. While not able to launch the ball as far or as high as Allen, Rosen, the UCLA product, dropped his passes in with a little more accuracy and on stride with his receivers.

“Every ball that this kid throws, he’s on balance, he’s got a really nice feel for touch and accuracy,” said Mike Mayock of NFL.com about Rosen in his day two combine takeaways.

Another quarterback linked to the Cardinals in mock drafts was Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield. What Mayfield lacks in size he mades up for in swagger.

During the deep ball drills the Heisman Trophy winner could be seen whispering to another quarterback prospect saying, “nothing impresses me.”

Sam Darnold from USC did not participate in the throwing portion of the combine but clocked in with a 4.85 40-yard dash and a 6.96 in the 3-cone drill. His time in the 3-cone drill was 5th best among quarterbacks.

NFL Network analyst Maurice Jones-Drew offered his take on who popped and who flopped over the combine and ranked his top five quarterbacks based strictly on the combine drills and not based on the film or interviews.
