ASU football hinted at new, cleaner uniforms during Pac-12 media day

It appears that the Arizona State Sun Devils and Adidas have made a few tweaks to their football uniforms.

While the team hasn’t mentioned the possibility of a new look, images from a photo shoot leading into the Pac-12 football media gathering Wednesday in Los Angeles showed ASU quarterback Manny Wilkins rocking a new maroon jersey.

Noticeably missing from the jerseys were the “Arizona State” title across the chest and the gold, zig-zaggy shoulder highlights.

In their place: a subtle, darker maroon shade in the design of the Arizona state flag.

A few more video clips of Wilkins and ASU wide receiver N’Keal Harry from this week showed the full uniform set that the Sun Devils took to the photo shoot. Click through to the fourth photo in this gallery, and a closeup of Harry shows the state flag well.

On their home uniform, the gold pants appear to have “Sun Devils” written along the thigh area.

Previously, that space was reserved for a maroon pitchfork logo.
