Cardinals rookie Sam Acho brings the pass rush

Suddenly, the Arizona Cardinals have a pass rush.
The Cardinals have collected eight sacks over the last
four games, with rookie Sam Acho being responsible for
three of them.
The former Texas Longhorn has five sacks on the season,
and is looking more and more like a guy who can be a
longterm answer at linebacker for a team desperately in
need of one.
“I think that you knew Sam was a sharp young man,”
Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said.
Acho, who played defensive end in college, has had to make
the transition to linebacker in the NFL.
“It takes time, but to his credit he’s worked very yard,”
he said. “If you watch Sam sometime, after he comes off
the field he’s always asking [Clark Haggans] or [Joey
Porter], or guys questions and talking about things.”
However the fourth round pick is doing it, what matters is
the fact that Acho is now tied for the team lead with five
sacks, and at just 23, has plenty of room to grow into the
role of a pass-rushing linebacker.
“He’s worked hard and I think he’s got a very bright
future at that position,” Whisenhunt said.
