Nick Bosa: Cardinals would be making ‘big mistake’ passing on me

Former Ohio State defensive end and potential No. 1 overall pick Nick Bosa met with the Arizona Cardinals Saturday night at the 2019 NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

Prior to the meeting, he told NFL Combine media that the Cardinals would be making a “big mistake” passing on him with the No. 1 overall pick in next month’s draft.

On Sunday, Bosa had an opportunity to show why.

Day 3 of the 2019 NFL Combine concluded with on-field workouts from the last of the defensive linemen and linebackers.

Bosa ran his 40 in an unofficial 4.84-seconds.

He even outran his older brother, 2016 No. 3 overall pick and current Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa.

Nick Bosa also finished with 29 bench press reps, 33.5-inch vertical jump, 116-inch broad jump, 7.1-second three-cone drill and 4.14 second 20-yard shuttle.

NFL.com gave him a 6.52 prospect rating which is categorized as a “chance to become Pro Bowl-caliber player.”

Nick Bosa is also a son of former 1987 first-round pick and Dolphins defensive end John Bosa.

As next month’s draft approaches, prospects’ stock will rise and fall as a direct result of the combine, not just the game film each player has accumulated over their college careers.

That’s the big question about Nick Bosa. He hasn’t played football since Sept. 15 due to a bilateral core muscle injury that caused him to miss the rest of his junior season.

Bosa came into the 2018 college football season as a highly predicted first overall pick candidate, and following the injury, he decided to forgo his senior season and declare for the NFL Draft.

Kyler Murray and Nick Bosa are the two names Arizona has been linked with most since receiving the first overall pick.

And just like Murray’s connection to Kliff Kingsbury, Nick Bosa has a connection to the Cardinals new linebackers coach Bill Davis, who coached the position for the last two years at Ohio State.

So with the combine finishing up Monday, the same question still remains: What will the Arizona Cardinals do with the No. 1 overall pick?
