The Arizona Cardinals added some depth to their linebacker corps as the team’s training camp kicks off.
The team announced the signing of linebacker Matt Longacre to a one-year contract Wednesday morning. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Longacre spent the last four seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. The linebacker appeared in 38 games (eight starts), recording 57 tackles, 6.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.
Longacre’s best year came in 2017.
In 14 games, Longacre compiled 5.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.
Unfortunately for the linebacker, Longacre’s season was cut short after suffering a back injury near the end of the season.
He entered 2018 as a starter.
