The Arizona Cardinals have signed free agent offensive lineman Jordan Mills, the team announced in a press release on Tuesday.

Mills, who has 82 starts to his name over six years in the NFL, was one of multiple offensive linemen the Cardinals worked out on Monday.

Mills figures to help the Cardinals make up for the loss of starting right tackle Marcus Gilbert, who the Cardinals placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Gilbert will miss the rest of the season due to a torn ACL, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

A former fifth-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2013, Mills has been on five NFL teams. Mills started at right tackle as a rookie for the Bears in 2013 and an additional 13 games in 2014.

After being cut by the Dallas Cowboys in training camp in 2015, he signed to the Detroit Lions’ practice squad before being signed midway through the season by the Buffalo Bills.

For the next three seasons, Mills started in every game for Buffalo. After his two-year contract with the Bills expired, Mills signed a one-year, $3 million with the Miami Dolphins in May. He did not make the final roster and was cut in late August.

Without Gilbert and backup guard/center Lamont Gaillard in Week 1, the Cardinals started Justin Murray at right tackle, who had been claimed on waivers five days prior.
