Two undrafted players with connections to the Valley were signed to the Los Angeles Rams practice squad on Sunday.

Former Arizona State offensive lineman Cohl Cabral and Chandler High School alum Bryce Perkins were added to the team’s practice squad Sunday after being cut by the Rams in order to reach the 53-man roster threshold over the weekend.

Cabral was the Sun Devils’ main anchor along the offensive line for multiple seasons. After appearing in 11 games as a freshman, the lineman started all 38 games from his sophomore season on.

Cabral allowed just one sack last season. His efforts put him tied for 29th among FBS centers and second in the Pac-12. The sack, however, was the only time Cabral let his man get near the signal caller, not allowing a QB hit all season in 2020.

The lineman also helped the team’s starting running backs (Demario Richard, Eno Benjamin) secure 1,000-yard seasons in each of the last three years.

Perkins, who graduated from Chandler High School in 2015 after locking up a state championship, was signed to the Rams practice squad on Sunday after being cut a day prior.

After transferring from ASU in 2017, Perkins found himself at the University of Virginia.

In two seasons, Perkins recorded 7,910 yards of total offense, a school record. Perkins also took home an ACC Coastal Division title his senior year and helped UVA reach the Orange Bowl. He threw for 323 yards and a four touchdowns, a career high.

All told, Perkins ended his 2019 campaign with 3,530 passing yards and 22 scores. He added another 769 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground.
