‘Cardinals Flight Plan’ provides inside look to 2021 training camp

The Arizona Cardinals’ self-produced documentary series, “Cardinals Flight Plan,” had its latest episode give a look at training camp for the 2021 season.
Quarterback Kyler Murray, safety Budda Baker and general manager Steve Keim were interviewed during the video.
Keim had the most unique interview of the three, answering questions while driving a motorized two-wheeler over to State Farm Stadium for practice.
Video highlights were shown from the team’s first two preseason games, a win over the Dallas Cowboys and loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rookie cornerback Marco Wilson was mic’d up for the Cowboys tilt, a game that Wilson had an impressive outing in. That included one pass breakup and a pass that Wilson nearly intercepted, one he told teammate Byron Murphy, “I’m supposed to catch that man!”
For the Chiefs matchup, backup quarterback Colt McCoy got the mic, but the highlight was Murray wearing one during a practice.
The third-year quarterback’s leadership was shown through a handful of clips, with Murray directing players in certain directions and also getting feedback from others. As expected with any practice, there was some trash talk coming from Murray too.
Keim discussed another leader’s voice emerging more in camp with Baker.
“He has become much more vocal, which is a good thing for us,” Keim said. “A lot of times, guys become more vocal during the maturation process, and now that this is Year 5 for Budda, he’s certainly taken on that leadership role and ran with it.”
Baker went on to say that he has mostly been a leader by example in the past but that he’s now turned a corner.
“This year for sure, it’s that point in my career where I should be talking to these players and not letting average stuff go,” Baker said.
There was also an interview with rookie tight end Bernhard Seikovits. The Austrian-born player was shown waking up at 5:30 a.m. in Arizona to Facetime with his girlfriend halfway across the world.
“We just talk about how her day went so far and how my day went when she was sleeping,” Seikovits said.
