Betting odds for the majority of games in the first weekend of the college football season have posted. As of Thursday morning, no point spread is as great as the Arizona State Sun Devils’ matchup against the Southern Utah Thunderbirds.
ASU is a 45.5-point favorite in its season opener, according to FanDuel SportsBook.
As of Thursday morning, the Thunderbirds are a slight favorite (-122) to keep the game under that margin against ASU (+100).
Maybe more eye-popping than the spread set at more than six touchdowns is the straight up moneyline.
Southern Utah is a +4000, while betting on an Arizona State straight up victory is -100000. In other words, betting $100 on the Thunderbirds and seeing them pull off a massive upset will net a better $4,000. Put $100 on the Sun Devils, and you’d make a whole 10 cents.
The Thunderbirds are 0-10 in their last 10 games straight up, according to OddsShark.
The over/under for their visit to Sun Devil Stadium is set for 55.5, per FanDuel.
Arizona State went 2-2 during a pandemic-affected season a year ago but returns nearly every starter this season.
Southern Utah went 1-5 last year, though all but one of its losses — a 28-20 defeat to Northern Arizona — came by a field goal or less. The Thunderbirds, who play in the Big Sky Conference, already opened their season this past Saturday with a 45-14 loss to San Jose State.
