Report: Broncos trade star pass rusher Von Miller to Los Angeles Rams

The NFC West just got that much tougher.

The Denver Broncos are reportedly trading linebacker Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Broncos beat reporter Mike Klis adds the Rams are sending a second- and third-round pick in return for Miller’s services.

The move comes just over two weeks after Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim swung a deal that netted Arizona high-profile tight end Zach Ertz following a season-ending injury to starter Maxx Williams. Both the Rams and Cardinals sit atop the NFC West at 7-1, though Arizona holds the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Heading into the season, Miller had garnered eight Pro Bowl selections and three All-Pro nods over nine years with the Broncos. The linebacker has had seven seasons with at least 10 sacks. His most came in 2012 when he made 18.5 sacks.

Through seven games in 2021, Miller has recorded 4.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss and nine QB hits.

Miller now joins a Rams defense that already includes stars such as defensive lineman Aaron Donald, cornerback Jalen Ramsey and linebacker Leonard Floyd.

Since being on the losing end of a 37-20 matchup against the Cardinals in Week 4, The Rams have won four straight. They’ve put up at least 26 points in each, while allowing just 17.2 points per game.

Miller will have ample time to learn Los Angeles’ defense before the Rams’ next meeting with Arizona in Week 14.

Count running back Chase Edmonds as someone who isn’t thrilled about the Rams’ newest edition on the defensive side of the football.
