The Arizona Cardinals have added four players to the active roster for a Christmas Day game against the Indianapolis Colts, including punter Ryan Winslow.
Winslow was signed earlier this week to the practice squad as an emergency backup for starter Andy Lee, who was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
With an upgrade to the active roster, it appears the emergency plan must be put in to place.
Winslow appeared in two games for the Cardinals in 2019 and spent time with the team in preseason.
He punted in two games for the Carolina Panthers this season after spending most of 2020 with the Green Bay Packers practice squad.
The Cardinals also signed wide receiver Greg Dortch to the active roster and elevated defensive lineman Josh Mauro and cornerback Kevin Peterson from the practice squad.
Earlier, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that running back James Conner is expected to play.
Conner did not practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the latest Cardinals injury report.
As for the Colts, Schefter also reported on Friday that offensive lineman Quenton Nelson was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
On Saturday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Indianapolis added linebacker Darius Leonard, wide receiver Zach Pascal and safety Khari Willis to the list and they will not be available to play in Glendale.
You can listen to the game live starting with a 6:15 p.m. kickoff on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
